Accessibility Statement

Xmobile mechaniX is Daniel Eck’s mobile auto-repair shop. The site exists so you can read what we do, ask for a quote, and book a roll-out. We want that to work for as many people as we can reasonably support on a small Wix site — including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, larger text, or a phone instead of a form.

This is a statement of intent and known limits, not a certificate. We have not paid for a formal WCAG audit. We do not claim the site fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

1. What we aim for
As we build and maintain the site in Wix Editor / Wix Studio, we aim to:

Keep body text on a dark background at a readable size (about 16px or larger) with contrast that holds up in daylight on a phone.
Give images of the logo and shop work a short text alternative. Decorative plate texture should be marked decorative so a screen reader does not announce “diamond plate” on every section.
Make the main actions — Book a roll-out, Get a quote, Call — reachable by keyboard and visible on a phone without horizontal scrolling.
Use real headings for page structure instead of oversized bold paragraphs.
Label form fields (name, phone, email, vehicle, address, problem) so they are not empty boxes.
Avoid information that exists only in color. Flame orange is the button color; the button still has words.
Keep hover or motion effects optional. The logo hover GIF is decoration. It should not loop, flash, or be required to understand the shop.
2. How we built the site
The public site runs on Wix. Wix supplies the templates, forms, Bookings widget, and much of the keyboard and screen-reader behavior. We control colors, type, images, alt text, and the words on the page. Some widgets (maps, payment, bookings calendar) are third-party and we cannot fully restyle their internals.

Wix documents its own accessibility features and an accessibility wizard in the editor. We use those tools where they help. They do not replace checking the live page on a phone and with a keyboard.

3. Known limits
Honest list of things that may still get in the way:

The brand is dark steel and flame orange. Some chrome-on-black wordmark images are graphics, not live text, and will be read as an image unless alt text is set.
Diamond-plate backgrounds can fight low-vision users if they sit under body copy. Plate belongs behind the hero and footer only.
The hover GIF and any auto-playing motion may distract people who are sensitive to movement. If you need the page still, skip that embed; the rest of the site does not depend on it.
Embedded maps, calendars, and payment frames may miss a label or trap focus. That is a vendor limit. Call or text us and we will book the visit off the widget.
PDFs or invoices we email after a job may not be tagged for screen readers.
User-generated reviews, if we add them later, may arrive without alt text on photos.
4. Book a visit without the form
If the website is harder to use than a phone call, you do not have to fight the form. We take bookings by voice.

Call or text: [phone]
Email: [email you check]
Tell us the vehicle year/make/model, where it sits (driveway, work lot, yard), and what it is doing. We will confirm the window by phone.
If you need extra time on site, a written estimate before we start, or a helper present for the visit, say so when you book. The shop comes to you; we can usually work with a quieter location or a shorter first look.

5. Compatibility we check
Before a publish we try to look at the live page on:

A current iPhone Safari and Android Chrome window
Desktop Chrome or Edge at 100% and 200% zoom
Keyboard only (Tab, Enter, Escape) through the header, Book button, and form
We do not test every screen reader and every browser. If something fails for you, the contact below is the fix path.

6. Third-party content
Google Maps, Wix Bookings, payment processors, and social embeds follow their own accessibility rules. This statement covers the Xmobile mechaniX pages we control. A map that is unusable is not a reason you lose the job — use the phone number.

7. Feedback and requests
If a page blocks you, tell us which page, what you were trying to do, and what you use (phone, desktop, screen reader, voice control). We will answer and, where we can fix it in Wix, we will.

Use the same number and email as the Contact and Privacy pages. Do not invent an address nobody reads.

8. Changes
When we change the theme, add a widget, or hear about a barrier we can fix, we update this page and the effective date. A statement is only useful if it matches the site that is live.
