Privacy Policy

This policy is written for a one-owner mobile shop. Xmobile mechaniX is Daniel Eck’s mobile auto-repair business. We come to you. We do not run a waiting room, a parts counter, or a mailing list farm. This page explains what we collect when you use the website, book a roll-out, text or call us, and what we do with it.

If we later add advertising pixels, a parts cart, or employees with separate logins, we will update this page the same week.

1. Who is responsible
Xmobile mechaniX, owned and operated by Daniel Eck (“we,” “us,” “the shop”).

The website is hosted on Wix. Wix is our service provider for the site, forms, and (if turned on) Wix Bookings and payments. We decide why the shop collects your information. Wix stores and processes it so the site can run.

2. What we collect
You give us
Name, phone number, and email when you request a quote or book a visit.
Service address or a pin — driveway, workplace lot, or fleet yard — so we can roll out.
Vehicle year, make, model, and a short description of the problem.
Photos or a short video of the dash, battery, tire, or leak if you send them.
Payment details if you pay on site or through the site’s payment tool. We do not store full card numbers on our own computers. The payment processor does.
Anything you put in a free-text box or say on a call that we need in order to diagnose or invoice.
The site collects automatically
Basic log data: browser type, device type, pages viewed, approximate city from IP, date and time.
Cookies and similar tools that Wix uses to keep the site working, remember a form, or measure traffic.
If we embed Google Maps, Google may receive the fact that you loaded that page.
What we do not collect on purpose
Social Security numbers, driver’s-license scans, or credit reports.
Precise GPS tracking of you after the job is done.
Account passwords for a customer portal — we do not run one unless we add it later and update this page.
Information from children. This shop is not directed at anyone under 16.
3. Why we use it
Schedule, confirm, and find the vehicle.
Diagnose, order parts, invoice, and keep a service history so the next visit is not a cold start.
Call or text about the window, a parts delay, or a follow-up.
Take payment and keep records the tax and warranty rules expect.
Improve the site and keep it secure.
Comply with a lawful request if one arrives.
We do not sell your name, phone, email, address, or vehicle data. We do not rent lists. We do not run third-party ad networks on the shop site unless we add them and say so here.

4. Texts, calls, and email
If you book or leave a number, we will use that number to confirm the roll-out, ask a diagnostic question, or send an invoice. That is transactional, not marketing.

We do not run an automated promotional SMS program. If that ever changes, you will get a clear opt-in and a way to stop. You can always reply STOP to a shop text or say so on the phone. Emergency roadside coordination is not a marketing text.

5. Who else sees it
Only people and tools that need it to do the job:

Daniel Eck and any helper he brings on a specific job.
Wix and its subprocessors (hosting, forms, bookings, site analytics).
The payment processor if you pay by card.
Parts suppliers when a part has to be ordered for your vehicle — year/make/model and the failed component, not your life story.
Accountants, insurers, or lawyers if a claim or tax filing requires the invoice.
Law enforcement or a court if we are legally required to hand something over.
We do not post your name, plate, or driveway on social media without asking. Job photos used for the shop’s own portfolio will crop plates and house numbers unless you say otherwise.

6. How long we keep it
Booking and invoice records: at least as long as tax and warranty records need to exist — typically several years.
Photos you send of a problem: until the job is closed plus a short buffer, unless they are part of the invoice file.
Website logs: whatever Wix retains in the ordinary course, usually weeks to months.
If you ask us to delete a quote that never became a job, we will, except where we have to keep an invoice or a legal hold.

7. Cookies
The Wix site uses cookies that are required for the page to load, forms to submit, and (if enabled) bookings to stick. Analytics cookies, if Wix Analytics or Google Analytics is on, tell us that someone visited Services and left. You can block non-essential cookies in your browser. The site may then forget a half-filled form.

8. Your choices
Email or call the contact line on this page to:

See what we have on you from a booking or invoice.
Correct a name, phone, or vehicle.
Ask us to delete a request that did not become work.
Tell us to stop non-transactional messages.
If you live in a state with a privacy statute (California, Virginia, Colorado, and others), you may also have the right to know, delete, or correct, and to appeal a denial. We will not treat you differently for asking. Because we do not sell personal information, there is no “Do Not Sell” toggle — the default is we don’t.

If a request is unclear or we cannot verify it is you, we will say so and ask for enough to match the booking (name plus phone or invoice number). We do not need a photocopy of your license for a routine correction.

9. Security
The public site runs on HTTPS. Wix holds the form and booking database. Phones and a shop laptop are used in the field. We do not leave printed invoices on a dashboard. If we learn of a breach that actually exposes your data, we will notify you and any regulator the law requires, as soon as we have something true to say.

10. Service visits
A mobile job means we come to an address you give us. That address is used to route the truck and to put a location on the invoice. We do not use it to build a marketing map of your house. Cameras on a phone are for the vehicle, not the interior of your home.

11. Other sites
Links to Google, parts catalogs, or social profiles are their pages, with their rules. This policy covers the Xmobile mechaniX site and the shop’s own books.

12. Changes
If we change how we collect or use information in a way that actually matters — new booking app, paid ads, a second technician with a shared inbox — we will update this page and change the effective date. Continued use of the site after that date is the new deal for website data. Existing invoices stay under the rules that applied when the job was done, plus whatever the tax code still requires.
